Time for a Change?

The best prevention is keeping your body functioning at its best to be able to repair and maintain itself. I bet you already know how to do this—eat right, get good sleep, exercise, have a normal weight, don’t smoke or vape nicotine cigarettes, drink alcohol not at all or in moderation, be married, maintain a few close friendships, be mindful/spiritual, and avoid living in a toxic environment. It’s simple, right?

If you are in a bad place right now with any of those, the easiest thing to do is pick one to work on. You can change anything you set your mind and habits toward doing. We often just want to take the simple quick fix in our culture—the magic pill that helps you lose weight, be happier, sleep better, etc. If only we could sit inside a chrysalis for a few hours and emerge a beautiful butterfly! However, true growth and personal happiness does not come in a pill. It does not have to be a chore, either. Think about your life for a second—was there something you did that was really hard or difficult or that you feared doing? If you did it anyway, how did you feel afterwards? Wasn’t it worth it?

Many patients ask me what is a good diet, or what supplements are the best. It is somewhat individualized, so if you are struggling with what to do, make an appointment and let me help! I have been keeping up with herbal supplements since I started practicing over 20 years ago.

I have also been doing acupuncture for over 20 years now, and what I like the best about it is that your body is working to heal itself. We are just using needles to stimulate certain points in the body to get the energy moving a different way—to change your body’s innate habits. It works to keep you healthy and in balance, and can help if you are having issues to get you back in balance.

If you need any help or guidance with fixing a bad habit or keeping a good one, please feel free to come in for a visit.
